To provide a community for all types of people—skeptics,
believers, the curious—where they can learn about Christ, grow in their
knowledge of the gospel, and discover their gifts and callings in order to
impact the local and global community for the glory of God.
In short, we want to enable
every Petra member to
-
To participate in a small group and monthly large group meetings("membership")
-
To grow in knowledge and wisdom("maturity") via
-
Sunday schools
-
discipleship
-
conferences
-
To discover his/her spiritual talents and strengths to be used in the
church("ministry") and the local and global communities("missions")
-
To bring glory to God("magnification")
We have, therefore, developed four committees which are led by committee heads
who are each committed to developing each of these ministries. In addition, for
the smooth flow from one “base” to another, and to supplement needs which do
not fall under one particular ministry, we have several additional committees:
(1) administration/communication; (2) programs and events; (3) care ministry.
Overseeing all of these committees and integral to the maintenance and progress
of the mission statement are the Petra pastor and Petra deacons.
