Petra Leadership Bios
Paul Jeon was born and raised in New York. He studied history and business at Brown University, completed his M.Div. at Westminster Theological Seminary, and is currently working on his Ph.D. at Catholic University of America. He has been serving at CCPC for several years now, fulfilling the duties of preaching, teaching, counseling, and leading Petra. Nothing is more important to him than his family, friends, and faith. Still, the pleasures of music, food, cartoons, exercise, and dogs play an integral part of his life.
Philip Lee was raised in Syosset, New York. He graduated with a BS in Industrial Engineering from Cornell University. He was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy after graduation. After his four years of service, he moved to Fairfax and started to attend Christ Central Presbyterian Church. He was recently ordained as a deacon and is excited to serve the church in this capacity. Phil enjoys watching movies of all kind, listening to music of all kind (minus country!), and eating food of all kind!
Anne Choi was born and raised in Connecticut. She received a BA in Early Childhood Education and Psychology from The University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Anne taught first grade and now teaches Junior Kindergarten at a private school in Alexandria. She moved to Virginia in 2000 and has been attending CCPC since then. Anne is a co-leader for one of the Fairfax small group and serves on the leadership team. She currently resides in Fairfax. Anne loves to cook, eat, play sports, and hang-out with friends and family.
Dennis Suh was born and raised in Philadelphia. He came to the Washington, DC area for college and attended George Washington University graduating with a BA in Human Resources Management. He came to CCPC in the fall of 2000 and has found his calling working with the Praise team as the Audio-Video Technician for all of CCPC's services. Dennis currently resides in Chantilly, VA.
Christina Chan was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She received a BA in Spanish and Education from the University of Mary Washington. She studied abroad in Costa Rica and is now a high school Spanish teacher. Christina attended KCPC from 1996-2004 and has served at CCPC since 2006. She is a co-leader for the Dunn Loring small group and serves on the leadership team.
Jeffrey Sarmiento is serving the Petra ministry under the Maturity Committee as well as developing and maintaining the Petra website. He is excited to serve the church community through Petra and is looking forward to cultivating his identity as a brother in Christ. Jeff enjoys eating everything, reading, cleaning, listening to music, and snowboarding.
Paul Kim hails from the land of 24s, fried chicken, and the latest hip hop artists; a charming town called Atlanta. He is serving the Petra ministry under the Events Committee to help Petra members get connected to each other and plugged into the community. He received his Computer Science and Mathematics degrees from Vanderbilt University and his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law. He is currently employed as a Patent Examiner and Recruiting Associate at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
Luiz Lee was born in Brazil, raised in NYC, and now settled in Fairfax, VA. He received his BS in Industrial Management at Carnegie Mellon University and MS in Management of IT at University of Virginia. Our sovereign Lord has taken Luiz through a journey in the past few years and now all of sudden he finds himself looking to see how he can further God's kingdom via Petra. Luiz is a huge fan of the New York Mets and New York Giants. He enjoys lip-syncing to rap music, making fun of his own big head, and forcing people to watch breakdancing videos (he stresses that he does not breakdance himself).

Core Values for Petra Leadership

The following list of core values reflects what is truly important to us as the leadership team for Petra. These values do not change with person, circumstance, and season, but rather form the ethos of Petra leadership. By maintaining them, regardless of how large Petra becomes, we can preserve what will always be unique about our leadership.

Purposeful
We believe that everything we do should be considered under the question of how it will ultimately further the overall purposes of Petra (MMMMM).
Planning
We believe that we should never act without a plan, nor should we ever act without the plan. We believe in constructing a basic process for everything.
Praying
We believe that “unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain; unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain” (Psalm 127:1).
Persevering
We believe that our “labor in the Lord is never in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Excellent
We believe that our ministry is an act of worship. Therefore, we strive to do everything with a level of excellence that reflects the worthiness of our Savior.

Trustworthy
We believe that our entire lives must be a consistent reflection of the gospel and Savior we represent.
Teachable
We believe that a commitment to excellence requires a sincere openness to criticism and rebuke. We also believe that excellent leaders are diligent students of the gospel.
Theological
We believe that there must be a theological underpinning to everything we do.

Relational
We believe that no single individual can accomplish the task which God has designed for a team. We also believe that people are more important than programs and processes.
Risk-tolerant
We believe that we are called to be visionary because we serve a God who “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20).

We believe that we can disagree without being disagreeable.
